It was in 1987, upon his return to Quebec, that Norm contacted his old friend, Alain Hill, owner of an impressive piece of land in Mauricie, to ask for permission to build a small camp. That's when the adventure began... His wife, Lise, suggested building a place to welcome the whole family. Norm then began building a small chalet on stilts, completed in 1995. It remained small until 2003-2004, when extensions were carried out. In 2005-2006, Lise and Norm partnered with two friends with the aim of developing an innovative and ambitious project on the site. Initially called La Forestière, the project was renamed following a suggestion from a shareholder. The entire group of partners agreed to pay tribute to the family that owned the land, the Hill family. From there, the place was renamed ForestHill. It was in 2016, following foundation repairs, that the property was completely renovated. ForestHill's mission was to become a high-quality recreational tourism player in a municipality that was increasingly confirming this vocation. The site aimed to become a true artistic resort in the forest, with a spa. Blacksmithing, wood painting, and sculpture were the artistic techniques targeted for the site's vocation. Natural baths, using the waterfalls located on the site, were also part of the plans.
